Paris-built AI tool that turns long videos and podcasts into short, captioned clips ready to post on TikTok, Reels and Shorts.

Klap is the product of Zigg SAS, a small Paris-based software studio founded by Theo Champion and Victor Timsit that has historically built consumer apps before turning its attention to AI video repurposing. Klap itself launched in mid-2023 and grew almost entirely through word of mouth among creators, reaching more than 2 million users and over $1 million in annualized revenue within its first year without running paid ads. The product takes a long-form video, whether a podcast, webinar or YouTube upload, and uses AI to identify the most shareable moments, then auto-generates short vertical clips with reframing, animated captions and a virality score meant to flag which clips are worth posting. It competes directly with Opus Clip and Vizard in the clip-repurposing category that grew out of the shift toward short-form social video. Zigg has kept Klap bootstrapped, with no outside funding disclosed, and runs the product with a lean team of around four people on Google Cloud infrastructure, a notably small footprint for a tool used by millions of creators.
