Hyperscience
Enterprise intelligent document processing platform combining OCR, machine learning and human-in-the-loop review at scale.

Hyperscience was founded in New York in 2013 (originally as Hyper Labs) by Peter Brodsky and Vladimir Tzankov and has since raised over $400 million, including a $100 million Series E round in December 2021 from investors such as Tiger Global. The company built one of the earlier enterprise-grade intelligent document processing platforms, aimed at large organizations like government agencies, insurers and financial institutions that need to process high volumes of forms, applications and correspondence with strict accuracy requirements. Hyperscience's platform combines OCR, machine learning classification and extraction with a human-in-the-loop review layer, so uncertain fields route to trained staff rather than getting guessed at, which the company positions as necessary for regulated back-office work where errors carry real cost. Customers cited publicly include the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, HM Revenue and Customs, and Mars. Andrew Joiner was appointed CEO to lead the company through its next growth phase, and the platform continues to compete with Hyperscience's original category of intelligent automation vendors as well as newer cloud-native IDP entrants like Rossum and Nanonets.
