Seattle bootstrap that grew from a college hackathon into a job tracker with AI resume tailoring and one-click application autofill.

Rennie Haylock built the first version of Huntr as a student project at the University of British Columbia before moving to Seattle and turning it into a full-time company. The product started as a free way to stop losing track of job applications in scattered spreadsheets and has stayed a small, self-funded operation since, run by a team Haylock has described in interviews as only a handful of people. Huntr today centers on a Chrome extension that clips job postings from almost any site into a kanban-style tracker, alongside an AI resume builder that tailors a base resume to a specific posting, a cover letter generator, and an autofill tool that carries saved profile data into application forms across thousands of employer career sites. It competes most directly with Teal and Careerflow, leaning on its autofill coverage and a highly rated browser extension.
