HeyBoss AI is led by founder and CEO Xiaoyin Qu, a former Facebook/Instagram product manager who previously founded Run The World (acquired by EventMobi). The company pivoted from an earlier kids' educational gaming product (Heeyo) into an AI app-building platform based in Palo Alto, California. HeyBoss lets non-technical users describe an idea in natural language and have AI agents design, code, and deploy a functional website, app, or game. In 2025 the company raised a $3.5M seed round led by the OpenAI Startup Fund, with participation from the Amazon Alexa Fund and Pear VC, and drew attention for naming an AI agent, Astra, as a symbolic AI CEO. As of late 2025, HeyBoss reported having helped more than 60,000 businesses and founders build an online presence.
