Grafana Labs was founded in 2014 by Raj Dutt, Torkel Ödegaard, and Anthony Woods. Formerly known as Raintank, it rebranded as Grafana Labs in March 2017. The company builds open-source and cloud-based observability tools, including Grafana, Grafana Cloud, Grafana Enterprise, Loki, Mimir, Tempo, and Pyroscope. In August 2024, Grafana Labs announced a $270 million primary and secondary transaction, an extension of its Series D, at a valuation of more than $6 billion. It also reported more than $250 million in annual recurring revenue and over 5,000 paying customers. LinkedIn describes the company as 100% remote, with more than 1,400 team members across more than 40 countries.
