A no-code app builder that turns a spreadsheet or database into a mobile-friendly business app, built for ops teams shipping internal tools without a dev team.

Glide was founded in 2018 by David Siegel, Mark Probst, and Jason Smith, and went through Y Combinator's Winter 2019 batch pitching a simple idea: point it at a Google Sheet or Airtable base and get back a usable mobile app, no code required. The product has since expanded beyond a pure spreadsheet wrapper into its own data layer and workflow engine, while keeping the core promise of turning existing business data into an app quickly, and it's used heavily by small businesses, field teams, and internal-tools builders rather than consumer app startups. The company has raised about $20 million total, including a $20 million Series A led by Benchmark in April 2022, and is headquartered in San Francisco. Through 2025 Glide leaned further into AI with the Glide Agent, which generates an app's layout and data structure from a written description, AI Columns that auto-generate per-row content such as summaries or sentiment scores, and a Workflows product — covering triggers like email, schedule, and webhooks — that exited beta in January 2025.
