Amsterdam-based company behind Framer, a no-code, AI-assisted website builder and design platform for creating and publishing production websites.

Framer was founded in Amsterdam in 2014 by Koen Bok and Jorn van Dijk, who previously co-founded the design studio Sofa (acquired by Facebook in 2011). The product initially launched as a prototyping tool used by design teams at companies such as Dropbox, Twitter, and Amazon. The company later pivoted from prototyping into a full no-code, AI-assisted website-building platform, combining a visual design canvas with a built-in CMS, analytics, A/B testing, and hosting so teams can design and launch production websites. Customers include Perplexity, Scale AI, Mixpanel, and Miro. In August 2025, Framer raised a $100M Series D led by Meritech and Atomico at a $2B valuation, bringing total funding to roughly $163M. The company has offices in Amsterdam, San Francisco, and Barcelona.
