Fellou is built by Beijing Steam Memory Technology, a company founded in 2024 by Yang Xie, previously known for founding the identity platform Authing and for earlier work at ByteDance. The company markets Fellou as an agentic browser that acts on web pages rather than just displaying them. Instead of opening a chatbot in a separate tab, Fellou embeds an agent directly into browsing: it can research a topic across multiple sites including logged-in platforms like Reddit and X, fill out forms, and hand back a finished report, spreadsheet, or presentation.
