EvenUp
AI platform built only for personal injury law firms, turning medical records and case files into demand packages and settlement analysis.

EvenUp was founded in San Francisco in 2019 by Rami Karabibar (previously at Waymo and Warburg Pincus), Saam Mashhad, a practicing personal injury attorney, and Raymond Mieszaniec, whose own family experienced a serious accident. Rather than building a general legal AI tool, the founders chose to go deep on one practice area: personal injury pre-litigation work, where paralegals traditionally spend twenty to forty hours per case assembling medical chronologies and demand letters. The company's proprietary model, Piai, is trained on hundreds of thousands of injury cases and reviewed by an in-house team of over 100 lawyers, nurses and paralegals rather than shipped as a pure black box. EvenUp reports that Piai identifies medical charges and treatments more accurately than off-the-shelf GPT-4 on internal benchmarks, though these are the company's own figures rather than independently audited numbers. Firms including Lerner & Rowe and Batta Fulkerson have published case studies citing months of turnaround time saved. EvenUp closed a $150 million Series E in October 2025 led by Bessemer Venture Partners, with RELX's venture arm REV among the backers, taking total funding to roughly $385 million at a valuation above $2 billion. The company opened a dedicated San Francisco headquarters in 2025 and now serves more than 2,000 personal injury firms.
