Ema builds AI Employees for HR, IT, and Finance.

Ema was founded in California in February 2023 by Surojit Chatterjee and Souvik Sen. Chatterjee is Co-Founder and CEO; he previously served as Chief Product Officer at Coinbase and held product leadership roles at Google. Sen is Co-Founder and CTO; he previously held engineering, data, and machine-learning leadership roles at Okta and Google. Ema develops an agentic AI platform and AI Employees that automate enterprise workflows across HR, IT, finance, and other business functions. Its products include the Generative Workflow Engine and EmaFusion, which combines multiple models for enterprise tasks. Ema emerged from stealth in March 2024 after raising $25 million. On July 31, 2024, it announced an additional $36 million led by Accel and Section 32, bringing its Series A to $50 million and total funding to $61 million. The company is headquartered in San Francisco and supports enterprise integrations, workflow automation, governance, and on-premises or air-gapped deployment.
