EliseAI was founded in 2017 in New York by Minna Song, Stoyan Stoyanov, and Carrie Murphy, originally under the name MeetElise, to apply natural language processing to the repetitive work of answering apartment-hunter emails and scheduling tours. The company has since broadened into a wider conversational AI platform for housing operators, covering leasing, renewals, resident service requests, and collections, with a newer division applying the same approach to healthcare front-office work. The product plugs into a property's existing PMS and CRM systems and responds to prospects and residents over email, SMS, voice, and web chat, handing off tours, application steps, and maintenance tickets without a human touching every message. EliseAI says its customers include a majority of the largest residential rental operators in the U.S., and the company has expanded from roughly 150 to over 300 employees since mid-2024 while crossing $100 million in annual recurring revenue. In August 2025, EliseAI closed a $250 million Series E led by Andreessen Horowitz, with Bessemer Venture Partners, Sapphire Ventures, and Navitas Capital also participating, doubling its valuation to roughly $2.2 billion from the prior year.
