Digits
AI-native accounting platform with an autonomous general ledger that categorizes transactions, closes the books and reports in real time for small businesses.

Digits was founded in San Francisco in 2018 by Jeff Seibert and Wayne Chang, both repeat founders who previously built and sold Crashlytics, the crash-reporting tool acquired by Twitter and later Google. Rather than digitizing a traditional accounting workflow, the company built its ledger around AI from the start, aiming to replace manual bookkeeping categorization and reconciliation with a system that learns a business's patterns and closes the books largely on its own. In 2025 the company launched its Autonomous General Ledger, an AI system trained on more than 170 million transactions, and acquired Basis Finance to add budgeting and planning to the platform. Digits has raised close to $100 million from investors including Benchmark, GV and SoftBank, with a Series C round valuing the company at $565 million, and its backers include a notable list of operator-angels such as Box CEO Aaron Levie and SoFi CEO Anthony Noto. The company added Xero co-founder Craig Walker to its team in 2025 as it pushes further into competing with QuickBooks and traditional bookkeeping providers, reporting 11x revenue growth in 2024.
