Databricks was founded in 2013 in Berkeley, California, by the original creators of Apache Spark: Ali Ghodsi, Ion Stoica, Matei Zaharia, Patrick Wendell, Reynold Xin, Andy Konwinski, and Arsalan Tavakoli-Shiraji.
