Dashtoon, operated by Delaware-registered Dashverse Corp, was founded in San Francisco in late 2022 by Sanidhya Narain, Lalith Gudipati, and Soumyadeep Mukherjee, two of whom previously helped scale the audio-fiction platform Pocket FM in the US. The company raised seed funding in 2023 and a $13 million Series A led by Peak XV Partners in 2025, with backing also from Z47 and Stellaris Venture Partners. Dashtoon Studio lets writers turn a script or storyboard into comic panels using a library of reusable, AI-generated characters, then publish finished episodes straight to the Dashtoon reader app, which functions like a webtoon platform for manga, manhwa, and original comics. Creators keep the first ten episodes of a series free for readers and split revenue with Dashtoon after that point.
