The company is headquartered in San Francisco, California, and offers both the open-source framework and a commercial enterprise platform (CrewAI Enterprise) for deploying, monitoring, and governing multi-agent workflows. In October 2024, CrewAI closed an $18 million funding round combining an earlier inception round led by Boldstart Ventures and a Series A led by Insight Partners, with participation from investors including Andrew Ng and HubSpot co-founder Dharmesh Shah. The open-source CrewAI framework has become one of the most widely used tools for building multi-agent AI systems, and the company has continued growing its enterprise customer base through 2026.
