Crescendo

AI-native customer experience platform pairing an automated CX assistant with human agents on the backend, priced per resolved ticket.

Crescendo

Crescendo was founded in San Francisco in 2024 by Andy Lee, Anand Chandrasekaran, Slava Zhakov and Matt Price, incubated in partnership with General Catalyst, where Chandrasekaran is a managing partner. The founding idea was to build a vertically integrated customer service company rather than just a software vendor: Crescendo runs its own AI assistant for handling tickets end-to-end across chat, voice and email, but keeps a human team in the loop for escalations and quality review, positioning the company against both pure-software AI vendors and traditional outsourced contact centers. Andy Lee, previously chairman of the company, became CEO in 2025 as founding CEO Matt Price moved into a strategic advisor role, with Chandrasekaran continuing as co-founder and president. Crescendo raised a $50 million Series C led by General Catalyst at a $500 million valuation, with Celesta Capital and contact-center operator Alorica also participating. Case studies published by Crescendo include e-commerce retailer Lovepop, which the company says cut email response time from about seven hours to eighteen seconds while achieving 94 percent CSAT and handling roughly double its ticket volume with fewer people. The company prices per resolved interaction rather than per seat, a model that shifts the sales pitch toward outcomes but also ties cost directly to support volume in a way flat-fee software does not.
