Work on ClickHouse began in 2009 at Yandex, and ClickHouse was released as an open-source project in 2016. ClickHouse, Inc. incorporated in Delaware in 2021, with Aaron Katz as CEO, Alexey Milovidov as CTO, and Yury Izrailevsky as President. The company develops the open-source ClickHouse columnar database and ClickHouse Cloud, a fully managed service for real-time analytics and data processing. Its current platform includes observability capabilities, vector search, AI functions, and a managed PostgreSQL service. In January 2026, ClickHouse announced a $400 million Series D financing, acquired Langfuse to expand into LLM observability, and launched its native PostgreSQL service. In May 2025, it announced a $350 million Series C financing. ClickHouse reported more than 4,000 ClickHouse Cloud customers in May 2026.
