Catapult Sports
Wearable GPS trackers and video systems that turn practice reps and match minutes into load, speed and collision data for pro and college teams.

Catapult was founded in 2006 in Melbourne by engineers Shaun Holthouse and Igor van de Griendt, building on GPS tracking work originally developed with the Australian Institute of Sport before the pair commercialized it for Australian Football League clubs. The company listed on the Australian Securities Exchange in 2014 and has been led by CEO Will Lopes since 2019. It expanded beyond wearable GPS pods into video analysis through its 2021 acquisition of XOS Digital, now sold as Catapult Vision, and into tactical and recruitment software, giving it a presence across more than 30 sports and thousands of professional and college teams. Revenue today is split between one-time hardware sales and recurring SaaS subscriptions for its video and athlete-monitoring software, a mix the company has leaned on to push toward sustained profitability after years of reinvestment.
