Castmagic was founded in 2022 by brothers Blaine, Greg, and Thomas Bolus, who had backgrounds spanning growth at Zenefits, engineering at Flexport and Amazon, and machine learning research at Stanford. Blaine also co-hosts a marketing podcast, which is reportedly where the idea originated: he was spending hours after every episode writing show notes and social copy by hand and wanted the process automated. The product takes a long-form audio or video file and generates a set of ready-to-use content assets from it - transcripts, summaries, timestamped show notes, blog drafts, social posts, and newsletter copy - using a library of templates that users can also customize. It supports transcription and content generation across more than 60 languages and is aimed squarely at podcasters, video creators, and marketing teams who publish the same conversation across several channels. The company has stayed small and self-funded, reporting more than 35,000 creators and businesses on the platform and over 5 million minutes of content processed, with customers cited including HubSpot and Yahoo Sports. It operates out of Miami rather than a traditional tech hub, reflecting the founders' base in that city's startup scene.
