A visual programming platform for building full web apps — database, backend logic, and frontend — through a drag-and-drop editor rather than hand-written code.

Bubble was founded in 2012 by Joshua Haas and Emmanuel Straschnov, who now serve as co-CEOs, after concluding that building a web application shouldn't require learning to code from scratch. The platform lets users design a responsive interface, define a database, and wire up backend logic through visual workflows, and it has become one of the most widely used no-code tools for building anything from marketplaces to internal SaaS tools to MVPs that later get funded and rebuilt natively. The company bootstrapped on customer revenue for seven years before raising a $100 million Series A in July 2021 led by Insight Partners, with participation from Bubble's own power-user community and executives from Hootsuite, Peloton, and Datadog as angel investors. It remains headquartered in New York City. In 2025 Bubble added an AI App Generator and AI Page Builder that scaffold an app's structure, database, and workflows from a written prompt, followed in October by an AI Agent that acts as an in-editor co-pilot — suggesting workflows, generating test data, and helping debug an app through conversation rather than only generating it once.
