Browserbase provides cloud browser infrastructure that lets AI agents run, manage, and monitor headless browsers at scale, giving them "real browsers" to authenticate, navigate dynamic content, extract data, and take actions across websites much like a human would. It was founded in 2024 by solo founder Paul Klein IV (previously CTO/co-founder of StreamClub, acquired by Mux, and an early engineer at Twilio), and is headquartered in San Francisco, California. The company has raised a total of roughly $68 million, including a $6.5 million seed round led by Kleiner Perkins (June 2024), a $21 million Series A led by CRV and Kleiner Perkins with Okta participating (November 2024), and a $40 million Series B led by Notable Capital (June 2025) at a reported $300 million valuation. Browserbase reports serving over 1,000 enterprise customers and more than 20,000 developers, including companies like Perplexity and Vercel, and has grown to roughly 50-75 employees.
